I’m writing this while a spectacular sunset is trying to distract me. Then again, I’m easily distracted. Not sure what caused it last month, but I just noticed a draft of the November newsletter tapping its fingers on the desk and wondering when I would get around to sending it. Not to worry. To show my green credentials, I will recycle it next month.
Anyway, back to the sunset. This one was keen to arrive. In fact, it’s been getting earlier and earlier for months now. Not being a scientist, I’m not too clear on why this happens, but according to the BBC weather app, this Sunday is a very important day in this part of the world. The sun will set one minute later than it did today. You may think this means the days are getting longer. Not quite. The sunrise is still getting later. Don’t blame me. I didn’t invent this stuff.
All of this means that Christmas is hurtling towards us. This year is a gamble, as I am relying on a supermarket delivery on Christmas Eve. What could go wrong?
By the way, if you are on the lookout for last-minute ideas, the audiobook version of The Fifth Tweet, narrated by Lee Beddow, is out now on Amazon and Audible.
On behalf of Frankie, Jen and all the gang from The Fifth Trilogy, I’d like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year Roy
PS. Yesterday, I wrote the first 1300 words of The Fifth Door – more of that next month!
