Forgetting things is all part of the process of getting older. That’s my excuse for forgetting ‘Dry January’ (again). Anyway, this time of year is cold and miserable enough without denying yourself the odd glass of wine. |
I’ve been thinking about age a lot, having just celebrated another trip around the sun. I’m told I’m now older than Ena Sharples was when the character first appeared on Coronation Street. Coincidentally, the soap began just a couple of weeks before I did. |
In recent years, being forgetful was costing me money. I’ve lost count of the number of books I’ve bought, only to realise three chapters in that I’ve read it before. But I now have a solution; I log my reading history on Goodreads. I suspect that doddery old codgers were not the target market when the site launched, but being able to check the app and decide that I already have two copies of the ‘must read’ is a boon. |
Why not sign up (it’s free!) and enter the 2024 Reading Challenge? Follow your favourite authors (I believe Roy M. Burgess is rather good), see what friends are reading, and get book recommendations. Goodreads |

Why not connect on Goodreads and tell me yours?
Happy reading

PS – This week I have a meeting with my editor about The Price We Pay (my upcoming thriller). I’ll let you know how it went next month! |
