The premise is simple — can you stop a murder after it’s already happened?
Like many parents, Jen stays up late to await the safe return of her 18-year-old after a night out. She’s horrified to witness her son stab a total stranger on the street. With the boy detained by the police, Jen falls asleep. When she wakes, it is yesterday. She lives the day trying to work out why her son killed the stranger. Each time she sleeps, she wakes up further back in time.
What emerges is an intriguing mystery, superbly told. As a reader, you can’t help being drawn into an absorbing story with plenty of twists and turns. By pure coincidence, this was the second book in a row that I read featuring time travel, but my befuddled brain coped well!
A clever way to tell a mystery. This book will keep you glued to the page long after you should’ve been somewhere else.
